2 killed, 3 others injured in shooting involving off-duty officers outside Atlanta lounge, GBI says Atlanta police are investigating a shooting on Trinity Avenue in downtown Atlanta.

Atlanta police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating a shootout in downtown Atlanta that involved shots fired at off-duty officers. The shooting happened outside the Monaco Hookah Lounge off Trinity Avenue Friday morning. The road remains blocked between Garnett Street and Ted Turner Drive. Two people were killed, one is in critical condition and two others are stable. No officers were hurt. There was also another person hurt who police say was hit by a car. Channel 2′s Lauren Pozen learned from investigators that two separate groups outside got into a fight that escalated into gunfire. Two off-duty Atlanta police officers were in the area, tried to intervene, but police say were shot at and the officers fired back.
