Andre Bell to Lead Stars Basketball Program
Columbia, MO – Stephens College Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Andre Bell as the new women's basketball head coach. Bell comes to Stephens after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Div. 1 Tennessee Tech University.

A native of Chicago, Bell began his playing career at Wilbur Wright CC before

transferring to finish at Bemidji State University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management. Andre Bell's coaching career started in 2008 as he joined the coaching staff at Trinity Valley Community College.

On staff from 2008-2012, the Cardinals posted a 91-37 record. During the 2010-2011 season, the Cardinals captured a conference title and finished with a ninth national ranking in the NJCAA. In his first stretch at Moberly Area Community College, Bell served as an assistant coach from 2012-2014; helping lead the Mustangs to back-to-back runner-up finishes in the Region 16 Conference. Bell then moved to Chicago and took over as the assistant varsity boys basketball coach at St. Rita High School for two seasons (2014-2016). In his first season there, the Mustangs won a Catholic League Conference title and an IHSA regional championship, posting a 26-4 record.
After two seasons at St. Rita, Bell moved back to Moberly as an associate head coach and recruiting coordinator from 2016-2019. During that time, the Greyhounds won three straight MCCAC titles and Region 16 conference championships. In his last season there, the Greyhounds went 28-7, won the Region 16 tournament, then the District 4 championship, and finished with an appearance in the NJCAA Sweet 16. Bell resides in Columbia with Lorraine Rice and their kids Andre Jr., Josiah, Jayla, Sienna, and Keandre.
