Tupac Shakur’s Killer Caught:

Duane“Keefe D” Davis, the Gang Leader Who Got Away with Murder for 27 Years, Arrested in Las Vegas

A former gang leader has been charged with the murder of Tupac Shakur, the iconic rapper who was

shot and killed in Las Vegas in 1996. Duane Keith Davis (60), also known as Keefe D, was arrested on Friday by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (L.V.M.P.D.) after admitting his involvement in the shooting to several media outlets in 2018.

According to the police,

Davis was the leader of the South Side Compton Crips, a rival gang of Death Row Records, the label that Shakur was signed to. On the night of September 7, 1996, Shakur and his entourage, which included Death Row CEO Suge Knight and members of the Mob Piru gang, attended a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. There, they encountered Orlando Anderson, Davis’ nephew and a member of the South Side Compton Crips.

A brawl ensued between the two groups, and Shakur was seen punching and kicking Anderson.

After leaving the MGM, Shakur and Knight headed to a nightclub for a post-fight party. Meanwhile, Davis, who had learned about the altercation, obtained a gun and drove a white Cadillac with

Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, Terrence “T-Brown” Brown and DeAndre “Dre” Smith. All three of them are now deceased. They spotted Shakur’s black BMW on Flamingo Road and pulled up next to it. Davis then handed the gun to Anderson and Smith, who opened fire at Shakur and Knight. Shakur was hit four times and died six days later at the University Medical Center. Knight survived with minor injuries.

The case remained unsolved for decades, despite numerous theories and speculations. In 2018, Davis confessed his role in the murder to several media outlets, including BET and The Sun. He claimed that he was dying of cancer and wanted to clear his conscience. He also said that he was not the triggerman, but rather the driver of the Cadillac.

The police said that they reopened the investigation after

Davis’ confession and gathered enough evidence to charge him with murder. They also said that they are still looking for other suspects who may have been involved in the shooting. They thanked Shakur’s family for their patience and cooperation.

Shakur was one of the most influential and best-selling rap artists of all time. He sold over 125 million records worldwide and was known for his social and political commentary in his songs. He was also an actor, poet and activist. His death shocked the hip-hop community and sparked a feud between the East Coast and West Coast rap scenes. His legacy lives on through his music and his fans.
